Privacy policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information NSM Jackets collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to nsmjackets.com, account.nsmjackets.com, and our checkout.
NSM Jackets Ltd (Company No. 16838927), registered in England and Wales, is the data controller. Our store runs on Shopify, which processes data on our behalf.
What we collect
- Contact and delivery details — name, email, phone, shipping and billing address
- Order information — what you bought, returned or exchanged, and your order history
- Payment information — handled by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number
- Account information — if you create an account, your sign-in details and saved preferences
- Messages you send us — by email, WhatsApp, or the contact form
- Device and browsing information — IP address, browser, device type, pages viewed, and how you move around the site
Fit Finder and sizing support
If you use Fit Finder, we collect the details you choose to submit, including height, weight, bust or chest measurement, fit and layering preferences, recommended size, product details and email address. We use these details to recommend a size and provide sizing or order support.
Submissions are sent to our sizing workflow and stored in Google Sheets, provided by Google, for our team to manage sizing enquiries. Information may be processed outside your country, including in countries where our workshop and service providers operate. We retain sizing information for the enquiry and related order support, subject to applicable record-keeping requirements. Contact support@nsmjackets.com to request access, correction or deletion.
Using Fit Finder does not by itself subscribe you to promotional emails. Marketing emails require separate consent.
Analytics and session recording
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use our site. Clarity records anonymised session information — where you move your cursor, what you click, how far you scroll — and builds heatmaps from it. This helps us find pages that are confusing or broken. Microsoft may also use this data in line with its own privacy practices.
We also use standard Shopify analytics, and Smile.io if you take part in our rewards programme.
If you would rather not be included, see Opting out below.
Why we use it
- To take, make, ship and track your order
- To handle returns, exchanges, refunds and cancellations
- To answer your questions and provide support
- To send marketing emails — only if you opted in, and you can leave any time
- To prevent fraud and keep the store secure
- To meet our legal and tax obligations
Our legal bases (UK and EU)
- Performing our contract with you — for orders, delivery and returns
- Your consent — for marketing emails and non-essential cookies
- Our legitimate interests — for fraud prevention, security and improving the store
- Legal obligation — for tax and accounting records
Who we share it with
Only those who need it to run the business: Shopify (our platform), our payment providers, our couriers (DHL Express, FedEx, UPS, USPS), and our email and analytics providers.
We also work with advertising partners — Google, Meta, Pinterest, TikTok and Microsoft — to show ads and measure how they perform. Under some privacy laws this counts as a "share" even though no money changes hands, which is why the opt-out below exists.
We do not sell your personal information.
Opting out
You can opt out of the sharing of your information for advertising and of targeted advertising at any time via our Data Sharing Opt-Out page.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat that as an opt-out automatically for that browser — you do not need to contact us.
How long we keep it
Order and transaction records are kept for as long as UK tax and accounting law requires, currently six years. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Support messages are kept while they are useful and then deleted.
International transfers
Your information may be processed outside the UK and EEA — including in the United States, where Shopify operates, and in Pakistan, where our workshop is. Where that happens we rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK and EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your information
- Send your data to you or another provider in a portable format
- Stop or limit certain processing, or object to it
- Withdraw consent you previously gave
Email support@nsmjackets.com and we will action it. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will never treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Children
Our store is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of majority where they live.
Security
Our site uses SSL encryption throughout and payments are handled by PCI-compliant providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and work with providers who do too.
Complaints
Please come to us first at support@nsmjackets.com — most things are quicker to fix directly. If you are not satisfied, UK customers can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), and EU customers to their national data protection authority.
Changes
If we update this policy we will post the new version here with a revised date.
