Who makes your jacket, and what it's made from.

No vague promises. Here is where our leather comes from, whose hands it passes through, and what we can and can't claim.

Our workshop

One workshop. One team. Every jacket.

Every NSM jacket is made by our own team in our workshop in Karachi. We don't pass orders on to factories we have never seen, and we don't buy finished jackets to put our label on.

That matters for two reasons. We can check every jacket ourselves before it leaves. And when you have a question about how something was made, the answer comes from the people who made it.

Choosing the leather

We buy finished leather from established tanneries, then check every hide in our own workshop for grain, thickness, softness and marks. A hide that doesn't pass doesn't become a jacket.

Cutting and thinning

Panels are cut on our own patterns, the same patterns we use for jackets we make for other labels. Where seams meet, the edges are thinned (skived) so the jacket sits flat instead of feeling bulky.

Stitching and checking

Our stitchers sew leather for a living. When a jacket is finished, it is measured and checked seam by seam, and we send you a photo of it before it ships.

The people

The hands behind every jacket

A real trade

Cutting and stitching leather takes years to learn. The people in our workshop do it every day, and their skill is the reason our jackets fit and last.

Our own team

The people who make your jacket work with us directly, in our own workshop. We know who made what.

Respect at work

We work to keep our workshop a safe, decent place to work, because good jackets don't come from people who are rushed or treated badly.

Fewer, better jackets

The most responsible jacket is the one you don't have to replace. Real leather can be cleaned, conditioned and repaired, and with basic care it lasts for years. Your jacket arrives in a simple NSM box, without layers of extra packaging.

What we don't claim

Straight talk

We are a leather workshop, not a certified "sustainable" brand, and we won't use words like "eco" or "zero impact" to sell you a jacket. Leather is an animal product, and making anything uses resources.

What we can promise is simple: real leather, made by our own team, checked before it ships, and built to be worn for a long time.

Straight answers

Questions about how we work

Where does your leather come from?

We buy finished leather from established tanneries and inspect every hide in our Karachi workshop before it is cut.

Who makes NSM jackets?

Our own team in our Karachi workshop. The same people also make jackets for other leather labels as a contract maker.

Where does my order ship from?

Some popular styles are kept in stock in the US. Everything else ships from our workshop. Shipping is free and import duties are paid by us, so there is nothing extra to pay on delivery.

Is it real leather?

Yes. Every leather jacket we sell is real leather. See Our Material for the leathers we use.

Sourcing & Labour

Every NSM Jackets product is built from genuine hides, sourced with an emphasis on consistent quality, then cut and stitched by skilled leatherworkers rather than mass-produced on an automated line.

We buy hides from established tanneries that specialise in leather, suede and shearling, and every jacket is cut and stitched in our own Karachi workshop. This is part of why our jackets carry the reinforced stitching and real metal hardware you'll find across the catalog.

For details on the actual materials we use, see Our Material, or read about caring for your jacket long-term on our Care & Maintenance page.

Frequently Asked Questions

We buy hides from established tanneries chosen for consistent quality, and every jacket is then cut, stitched and finished in our own Karachi workshop.

Our jackets go through hands-on cutting, stitching, and finishing by skilled leatherworkers, rather than a fully automated process.

Real leather - mainly lambskin and cowhide, plus genuine suede and shearling on selected styles. We never use PU or faux leather; if a listing uses another material (such as wool), it says so clearly.

We don't currently publish a formal supply chain report, but we're happy to answer specific sourcing questions through our Contact Us page.
